BBL® HERO™ FAQ
-
The BBL laser treatment process that turns back time on aging is called Photorejuvenation. The
treatment uses short blasts of high-intensity light to produce younger-looking skin with no surgery and
little to no recovery time. This treatment can be done on the face, neck, chest, legs, arms, and hands-on
men and women alike.
So, how does it work? The light that is used during treatment changes to heat energy as it reaches the
level of collagen beneath the skin surface. The heat energy then stimulates the skin and promotes
collagen regeneration. Collagen is so important for helping the skin maintain its youthful appearance.
Unfortunately, as we age, our skin loses collagen. So, by targeting the growth of collagen, the skin’s
surface will be renewed. This renewed, refreshed layer of skin will leave you with even pigmentation,
improved texture, and reduced redness.
-
Years of unprotected sun exposure can do a number on your skin, but BBL can reverse the damage. BBL
is attracted to hyperpigmentation and Sun damage. It will initially turn dark spots darker or “peppery”
and they will slough off during a period of about a week leaving behind clear, smooth, even skin. Active
acne can also be treated successfully with BBL. Rosacea, vascular lesions, and facial veins are also
targeted. Rosacea may initially be slightly flared and skin can be more red temporarily, but the heat will
close vessels and ultimately calm red and inflamed skin. With the increase in collagen stimulation
wrinkles can also be softened with multiple treatments. A series is always recommended along with
maintenance treatments.
-
The best part about BBL treatment is that the process is quick and easy. The procedure can be
customized for each patient, depending on what needs to be treated. The treatment could include three
or four separate filters depending on the treatment areas. Each filter targets different skin issues. So,
multiple skin conditions will be treated in just one single treatment.
Initially, a cold gel will be applied to the targeted area, and you will be given dark glasses to wear to
protect your eyes from the bright light.
The BBL handpiece that gives off pulses of light will be applied to your skin. This is a smooth glass
surface. During the treatment, you may feel a slight sting. The pain has been compared to the snapping
of a small rubber band.
A series of treatments are recommended for maximum results.
-
With BBL skin treatment, you can have younger-looking skin without the need for surgery. So, it is no
surprise this treatment is so popular. But, like any other procedure, there are some things that need to
be done before and after treatment.
Before BBL Laser Treatment
Avoid sun exposure. This includes tanning beds and using self-tanners.
Stop using Tretinoin, Retin A, Renova, Differin, Tazorac, or any retinol-based product at least two days
prior to treatment.
If you have a history of facial cold sores, you may need to take a prescription before your BBL treatment.
You will want to make sure to talk to your health care provider about this issue before the treatment is
done.
After BBL Laser Treatment
Immediately after treatment you may be given an ice pack to cool the skin. Skin care product will be
applied to help calm you skin and protect you investment.
Continue to avoid sun exposure as much as possible. Wear a hat and sunscreen. It is possible stimulate
pigment to return more quickly with increased time in the sun.
About 5-7 days after treatment you may resume your normal skin care products. If it stings, don’t do it!
After a week, start any product recommended by your provider to improve your results.

SkinTyte
As people age, the skin ages too, losing its natural collagen and elasticity. Loose skin can occur all over the body, but it is especially common in the face, neck, abdomen, and arms. Often, patients believe that the only way to tighten skin is through invasive surgical procedures. However, Sciton has spent over a decade researching and perfecting non-invasive technology that treats the appearance of mild-to-moderate loose or sagging skin.
Powered by the BBL® HERO™️ platform, SkinTyte® is a non-invasive skin firming treatment that delivers uniform, targeted, and deep heating to provide a rejuvenated appearance anywhere on the body. By taking a proprietary, multi-pass approach to treating aging skin, SkinTyte®’s treatment addresses the signs of aging on all levels of the skin. A single pass alone can address the overall appearance of the skin, while multiple passes with various other wavelengths of light can provide corrective qualities leading to skin tightening.
Practitioners can use SkinTyte® on patients of all skin types anywhere on the body, including: Face, Neck, Chest, Arms, Legs, Back, Knees, Buttocks, and Abdomen.
SkinTyte® offers fast, safe and effective treatments, making it the most cost-effective tissue heating device on the market. It predictably, effectively, and comfortably treats any area of the body where improvement is desired, giving patients a firmer, more youthful appearance.

The infrared light to heats the dermis using an in-motion technique that maintains a comfortable and relatively quick procedure. Most patients find it soothing, especially when compared to Ultherapy.
